Program Information
Call 669-6644 to register or for more information about programs. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, unless otherwise stated. Programs that are wheelchair accessible are designated with the symbol.

Ongoing Programs

Saturday Morning Bird Walk. 8 a.m. on the 1st Saturday of the month.  An Oxley staff member will lead a bird walk on the first Saturday of every month for all ages. Beginners are welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them, and meet at the Nature Center.

No reservations required. No fee.

Family Adventures are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month. There is a different topic each month. The same class happens at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

Butterfly Walks 10:30 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday of each month from Apr. to Oct.  

No reservations are required. No fee.

 Earth Science Walks 10:30 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday of each month from Nov. to Mar. Check Oxley Nature Center’s Newsletter to find out whether it will take place at Oxley Nature Center or Redbud Valley Nature Preserve.

Botany Walks 10:30 a.m. on the 4th Saturday of each month. Sometimes they meet at Redbud Valley Nature Preserve, but most months are at Oxley Nature Center. Check the Newsletter for details. No reservations are required. No fee.

Full Moon Walk Programs. Small, guided groups explore the Nature Center by night, without flashlights, learning to use senses other than sight. Pre-registration & fee required.

Night Walks. Organized groups of 6 or more may request a guide to tour the Nature Center by night, without flashlights, learning to use senses other than sight.

Make your request and pay two weeks in advance.

Weekend Tours. Organized groups of 6 or more may request a guide to tour the Nature Center after school or on weekends.

 Astronomy Programs.
Because of two recent staff reductions and other cost-cutting measures in the City of Tulsa, Oxley Nature Center’s monthly star programs are currently on hold.
Star programs usually begin with an introduction to the constellations and star legends from many cultures. Each month features a different astronomy topic.
