The Interpretive Center

Exhibits / Collection

Inside the Nature Center, you’ll find interactive exhibits, a reading corner, a specimen collection, interesting nature items and educational displays, kids’ activities, restrooms, a water station, a gift shop, and helpful and knowledgeable staff and volunteers.

Backpacks, Walking Sticks, and Binoculars

At the front desk, walking sticks, high quality binoculars, and Discovery Packs can be checked out. Discovery Packs contain a trail map, pocket field guides, binoculars, a compass, a magnifying glass, a community nature journal, and a trash bag (in case you encounter any litter along the trails). These can all be checked out at no charge (yes, it’s free!), we just ask that you leave behind something of value at the front desk to guarantee the return of the borrowed items. Items can be checked out starting at 10:00 a.m up until 3:00 p.m., and everything must be returned to the front desk by 4:00 p.m.

Classroom

The Bur Oak Classroom is about 300 square feet with two sides of floor-to-ceiling glass, offering stunning views of the surrounding forest. This space is available for half-day or full-day rentals when it is not being used for programs. Please call the Nature Center for more details and to check availability.
